Air France has launched an art exhibition of the airline’s history and evolution at the Alliance Française in Johannesburg, to celebrate 71 years of connection between Paris and Johannesburg.
The ‘Decades of Connection’ exhibition features vintage photographs, advertising posters and crew uniforms throughout the ages as well as iconic onboard objects and travel memorabilia. Entry is free and the exhibition runs up to November 29.
“Since 1953 Air France has been making the cultural exchange between Johannesburg and Paris as smooth as a perfectly aged Bordeaux,” said Wilson Tauro, Country Manager for Southern Africa at Air France-KLM.
“The exhibition celebrates the rich history of Air France and South Africa leading up to today, including technological innovations, iconic aircraft, world-class cuisine and collaborations with designers,” he added.
“Air France embodies what it is to be French: elegance, innovation and a touch of audacity,” said Étienne Chapon, Consul General of France.
