RwandAir is looking into flying to the new Victoria Falls International Airport in Zimbabwe after taking a recent tour of the facilities.
The airline’s CEO, John Mirenge, speaking to Tourism Update said the resort’s airport was state of the art.
“We are going back to work with our travel partners to package Harare, Victoria Falls and other destinations. With a direct product, tourism and business will start flourishing between the two countries. The tourism board has already shown its commitment on this issue,” said Mirenge. RwandAir will commence four weekly flights to Harare International Airport in January.
He said developing direct routes between destinations was important as it was less costly and saved on time as international tourists disliked the many stopovers.
While the airline has started engaging stakeholders and the tourism board, there are no timelines for the launch of the new route.
