Travel experts have compiled 21 bucket list destinations to visit in 2021, including two in East Africa.
Agents at international agency, Ovation Travel Group, compiled the list of leisure destinations based on advance sales and client aspirations. “During the past eight months, the travel habits of our clients have certainly changed,” said the group’s MD, Tina Rose. “Intrepid travellers have been grounded but the love of travel is still deeply rooted in their DNA.”
Coming in at number two on the list is the Serengeti in Tanzania. Home to the second-largest terrestrial mammal migration in the world, the Serengeti is the ideal destination for wildlife lovers, according to the list.
Listed at number seven, Rwanda offers travellers cultural, adventure and wildlife experiences with agents at Ovation Travel saying the gorilla trekking experiences are a ‘don’t miss’ itinerary item.
The last African destination, ranking at number 15 on the list, is the South African coastal town of Gaansbaai. Famous for shark-cage diving experiences, the small town is a popular destination for ocean lovers and adventure seekers.
