Fastjet Zimbabwe says, effective January 10, its three times a week Victoria Falls-Johannesburg service will be replaced by a seasonal schedule.
The amendment, says the airline, is in line with the strategic growth objectives for Zimbabwe operations, and aims to create opportunities for additional frequencies on the remaining Zimbabwe routes, and meet the service expectations of travellers.
The revised schedule for the Victoria Falls-Johannesburg routes will now be geared to customer demands during the popular holiday seasons: Easter, Christmas and the months of August and September, says the airline.
The amended schedule is valid for the following travel periods:
- Season one, Easter 2019.
- Season two, July 10 to September 10.
- Season three, December 15 to January 10, 2020.
Affected customers can be offered an alternative flight date at no additional charge, or a full refund may be applied for via BSP link.
All other flights in the Zimbabwe network remain unchanged.
Zimbabwe has recorded a significant increase in the number of airlines flying into the country in recent months and the number is expected to grow further in 2019 as more tourists and business people have shown interest in visiting the country to explore various opportunities, as well as for leisure.
Fastjet Zimbabwe’s route network includes Tanzanian domestic routes from its Dar es Salaam base to Kilimanjaro, Mbeya, and Mwanza with international routes to Tanzania from Lusaka in Zambia and Harare in Zimbabwe.
