Exhibitors at this year’s Indaba will be given the opportunity to showcase their food and beverage offerings, within parameters set by the Durban ICC.
The opportunity is open to exhibitors that represent hotels, lodges and other hospitality establishments that provide food and beverage offerings and will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
Neil Nagooroo, SA Tourism GM: Strategic Events and Exhibitions, says the development follows feedback from exhibitors who have asked for this opportunity to be brought back to the show. Nagooroo adds that, because Indaba showcases a tourism offering, of which food is very much a part, the show needs to be treated differently to other exhibitions.
Hotels exhibiting at the show will be able to bring in their chefs and showcase the food offering to attending buyers. This will need to be by prior arrangement with the ICC.
To obtain permission, exhibitors must fill in a form and return it to the Durban ICC for approval. The ICC reserves the right to decline requests and a corkage fee may apply.
