Kenya’s low-cost carrier, Jambojet, is increasing flight frequencies to the country’s coastal tourist destinations, in response to rising demand in both domestic and international markets for additional capacity over the festive season.
Increases are as follows:
- Daily flights from Nairobi to Malinidi: increased from 9 to 14, resulting in an extra 780 seats.
- Daily flights from Nairobi to Ukunda: increased from 10 to 14, resulting in an extra 672 seats.
- Weekly flights from Nairobi to Mombasa: increased from 38 to 49, resulting in an additional 1 092 seats.
“We have seen incremental growth of bookings in some international markets in comparison to last year, notably, Uganda where we started double daily flights in February, 2018,” the Jambojet Marketing team told Tourism Update. The US has grown by 107% and we expect more growth as Kenya Airways starts direct flights to New York later this month. Germany comes in third place with 31% growth.”
The flight frequency increases were implemented to address both domestic demand of flights during the peak season of December to Mombasa, Malindi and Ukunda, as well as offer flexibility and flight variety to all customers.
Jambojet’s most notable international source markets are Germany, the United States and the United Kingdom.
