Ker & Downey Botswana recently completed an extensive refurbishment of its luxury Okuti Camp in the Moremi Game Reserve, including structural renovations and a new interior design.
Situated on the banks of the Xakanaxa Lagoon in the heart of the reserve, Okuti comprises five spacious twin and double-bed masasas (house made of reeds), along with two additional family masasas.
In the spirit of supporting local communities and artisans, the redesign includes new furnishings crafted in Maun.
Walter Smith, Sales and Marketing Director of Ker & Downey Botswana, explained:
“The complete transformation of Okuti Camp’s look and feel is modern, and the camp is truly a one-of-a-kind, with a design that seamlessly blends into the natural surroundings. The rooms’ new layout and amenities have been rearranged to enhance the breath-taking views out over the lagoon and river. Other new room fixtures, such as the flooring and lighting, have transformed the rooms into a more stylish and brighter space.”
Game drives (seating a maximum of just four people to ensure space and individual use of camera mounts) and motor boat excursions are included in the camp’s rates, with the optional experience of bush picnics available.
Okuti has been awarded five-star status as an eco-tourism certified establishment by the Botswana Tourism Board.
