The Tau Game Lodge in the Madikwe Game Reserve, North West, was affected by fire on Friday, June 16.

The Tau Game Lodge team has reported that no guests, staff, animals, spa or conference centre were affected by the fire.

The main lodge burned down, however rooms have not been affected. The lodge is not operational, as the kitchen and reception area have been affected.

The lodge has closed from today until further notice.

Tau Game Lodge is offering either 100% cancellation fees or a relocation of bookings for guests.

The rebuilding of the main lodge will commence as soon as possible.

The cause of the fire is unknown.
