Private Safaris has promoted Irina Jordaan to Head of Sales for South Africa, with effect from October 1.
Jordaan joined Private Safaris in 2011 and has advanced through various positions in both Sales and Reservations departments.
In her recent role as Marketing Manager to the ‘Basket’ team, Jordaan was responsible for driving sales in and streamlining efficiency to European and North American markets. Monika Iuel, CEO Southern Africa says: “We are confident that Irina will make a success of her new role and that she will significantly strengthen our team in Cape Town.”
This promotion is the latest of several internal advancements by Private Safaris in recent months. Virginia Barnard and Maureen Lima were appointed Reservations Director and Business Solutions Manager respectively, and both now sit on the Private Safaris Executive Committee.
Tourism Update recently announced that Linda Pampallis, CEO of Thompsons Africa would be stepping down. After much consideration the Thompsons Africa board announced the appointment of Alessandra Allemann to the position of CEO.
Miquel Alimbau Comas was recently appointed new General Manager for SkySafari by Elewana, which offers aerial safaris in Tanzania and Kenya.
Comas has more than 12 years’ experience in the tourism industry, focusing on air transport and hospitality. He started his career as a GSA for aviation and later spent seven years with Turkish Airlines in departments that included Operations and General Management.
Comas is an aeronautical and aerospace engineer and holds an executive MBA. He is currently a doctoral candidate in business administration, with his research focused on Ngorongoro Conservation Area in northern Tanzania.
