Sanctuary Retreats has appointed Mariki Theron as its new Sales Director: Africa. Theron will be responsible for sales in southern and eastern Africa.

Previously, Theron was International Sales and Marketing Manager for Legend Hospitality, worked for the Mount Meru Hotel in Arusha, and worked in sales, marketing and public relations for Diaz Strand Hotel, Plett Villas and Thompsons Tours.

Pieter van der Schee, Global Sales Director for Sanctuary Retreats, said: “Theron has all the key personal skills to build strong relationships with all our clients, support them with training and marketing, and ensure that we grow the business from our clients across Africa.”

Bon Hotels International West Africa has appointed Executive Director, Bernard Cassar.

Cassar previously worked for Protea Hotels as a hotel management trainee, rooms division manager, front office manager and national sport manager.  He was also GM at Mabula Lodge, Protea Hotel Hazyview, Piggs Peak & Casino and The Ritz before being appointed Director of Protea Hotels Africa: New Developments.

Bon Hotels International West Africa launched on June 1.
