Seychelles President Danny Faure has announced a Cabinet reshuffle, with a reduction in the size of the Cabinet, that sees Didier Dogley appointed Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Ports and Marines.
Dogley, who replaces Maurice Loustau-Lalanne, was educated in the Seychelles and completed his studies at the University of Applied Sciences Erfurt in Germany and Reading University in the UK. He later obtained a Diploma in Management at the Seychelles Institute of Management, now known as the University of Seychelles.
Since 1989 he has worked in the Ministry of Environment and has held key posts, such as Director General for Nature Conservation and Principal Secretary of Environment. He was Chairperson of the National Planning Authority, Waste and Landscape Management Agency and the National Parks Committee. He has also served on the boards of the Seychelles Tourism Board and the Island Development Company.
Dogley was the Founding Chairman of the non-government organisation, the Plant Conservation Action Group, which seeks to promote the conservation and protection of the endemic and indigenous flora of the Seychelles, according to eTurboNews.
Radisson Blu Hotel Waterfront in Cape Town has appointed Arend De Beer Director of Sales and Marketing.
De Beer joined Radisson in 2014, opening up Park Inn Newlands as Leisure Sales Manager. At the same time he assisted in the opening of Radisson Blu Le Vendome as Leisure Sales Manager and continued in these roles while being appointed Director of Sales and Marketing at Le Vendome. Prior to his 2018 promotion, De Beer was appointed Leisure Sales Manager responsible for Radisson Blue Hotel and Residence as well as Radisson Blu Hotel Waterfront.
Travelport announced new leadership for its Agency Commerce in the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) on April 25. Damian Hickey takes on the role of Managing Director for EMEA, Agency Commerce, following the departure of Rabih Saab earlier this year.
Hickey’s appointment is effective from June 1 and he will relocate to Travelport’s Langley UK base from Singapore where he currently oversees Travelport’s Air Commerce business in the Asia-Pacific region.
