This week’s picture was sent to us by Kuno Stielau, who took the picture of an immature Bateleur eagle in the Khutse Game Reserve in Botswana.
Did you know that when Bateleur eagles mature it’s possible to differentiate males from females based on the feathering under their wings? Males have a broad band of black feathers under their wings, while females have mostly white feathers with only a small strip of black.
