Royal Malewane safari lodge in the Greater Kruger National Park has undergone renovations. The exclusive lodge is a part of Royal Portfolio and has been open since 1999.
The revamp included an overhaul of the floors, doorways, decking and thatching. The swimming pool has also been resurfaced. Liz Biden, owner of the Royal Portfolio, has added furniture and new fabrics.
The two Royal Suites have new gazebo entrances and the kosher kitchen has also been redone.
The lodge has also opened the Masiya Bar on the site of the old boma. The gin and whisky bar is a tribute to the Master Trackers at the lodge and is named after Wilson Masiya, the first of three Master Trackers at Royal Malewane who died in 2015. The bar also provides a private dining option for guests.
Building is also under way at The Farmstead, which will open in mid-2019.
