SA Tourism’s China office has implemented two integrated marketing projects to promote authentic travel experiences in South Africa to the Chinese market.
SAT is engaging with National Geographic Traveler and Robb Report to influence the high-end and mainstream/mass markets in the country.
The co-operation with National Geographic Traveler includes an incentive consumer interaction at www.jd.com and celebrity Li Guangjie’s photo-filming FAM trip to South Africa from September 20-28. Guangjie’s visit will include a safari game drive, water adventures, a wine tour, a braai boma dinner, city sightseeing, golfing and urban lifestyle experiences. His SA experience will be shared with Chinese consumers via National Geographic Traveler’s Weibo and WeChat accounts.
The co-operation with Robb Report will cover celebrity Duan Yihong’s FAM trip to South Africa from October 17-23. Yihong will visit Cape Town and the Kruger National Park and his experiences will be posted on social media.
