Our latest poll indicates sluggish growth in bookings from China following the country’s dropping of COVID-19 travel restrictions and the opening of group travel to South Africa and Kenya at the start of February.
When asked whether they had experienced an increase in bookings from China, 81% of poll respondents said no, with 19% saying yes.
South African Tourism and hospitality associations such as FEDHASA have identified China as a crucial source market to boost tourism to southern and East Africa.
