Track and Trail River Camp in Zambia’s South Luangwa National Park has undergone renovation.
Owner, Kirsten Gottenkieny, says the renovation to the chalets was necessary because initially the rooms were built around a tree in order to spare the tree, but this has resulted in damage to the building. “We decided to change the floor plan to accommodate the tree behind the building to avoid causing further damage to our facilities.”
Track and Trail River Camp offers four double-storey chalets, two secluded chalets on stilts and three single-storey chalets and a campsite. No additional structures are planned, while renovation will focus on improving the existing product.
The camp has replaced all canvas safari tents with chalets, with the last of the five tents being taken down recently.
