The fourth annual Mozambique Roadshow was held on October 2, at Doppio Zero, Rosebank, Johannesburg, hosting exhibitors from 18 hotel groups and attended by tour operators and agents.
Natalie Tenzer-Silva, Director of Dana Tours, told Tourism Update that Mozambique Tourism was looking to expand the roadshow to Gaborone and Nairobi.
“The event is all about fun” said Mike Brett, the South African representative of the Mozambique Roadshow. He said Mozambique Tourism had seen an increase in bookings compared with last year as there were more products available. Brett added that, due to the political unrest the market struggled last year, but there was a definite belief that things were on the up.
Various hotel group representatives confirmed the difficult period Mozambique tourism had gone through this past year, but the majority of exhibitors were confident the market would see a positive influx of leisure and corporate travel.
