Seychelles authorities announced new safety measures on Sunday (January 3) as the country strives to curb the spread of COVID-19.
As part of the new measures, effective immediately, visitors already in Seychelles must remain in their current establishment for the next ten days. All new visitors entering Seychelles (as of Sunday) must stay in one accommodation establishment for the first ten days in the destination.
Other new regulations include:
- Stand-alone restaurants will be closed, restaurants in hotels and guest houses will remain open for their guests only. Other recreational services in hotel premises, including bars, swimming pools, spas and kids’ clubs will also not be operational.
- Inter-island travel is strongly discouraged.
- Visitors arriving by sea may not disembark in Seychelles before ten days after the last port of call.
- A strong plea has been made by the authorities for all service providers to maintain a high level of alert and reaction at all times.
- Wearing of masks is mandatory and anyone failing to comply will incur legal action.
- Visitors are not allowed to use public transport during their stay.
