Job Description
Experienced FIT Senior Travel Consultant with 5+ years of experience in Southern Africa working for an inbound DMC. The candidate must have excellent product knowledge and very good geographical familiarity of Southern Africa. We are looking for a professional person that offers high service levels at all times. The candidate should be bilingual, English & Afrikaans.
Understanding and operating company Systems (TOUR PLAN NX SYSTEM) and WETU System
Have good product knowledge and excellent geographical knowledge of Southern Africa
Good communication – internal and external with agents
Multitasking, being able to handle pressure and volume
Skilled in designing detailed quotes for itinerary requests and revised quotes.
Preparing Wetu Proposals when necessary
High conversion rates & reaching targets is essential
Quick turn-around times
Request rates, negotiate on rates, where and when possible or required
Ensure rates are sent to the contract/systems team to load onto NX
Use preferred suppliers as per company policy
Be available to attend site inspections/fam trips, educationals or networking events
Operate all segments of tours within the set budget
Excellent time management and very good prioritizing ability
Important to plan carefully to meet deadlines
Create and manage provisional bookings for all suppliers
Be responsible for all aspects of the tours being run such as transport, accommodation, restaurants etc.
Consultant must make sure agent’s information and tour information correspond
Request sales updates from agents/direct clients, chase for final booking numbers and ensure we have all information to run the tour
Ensure agents are invoiced in due time, deposits and final payments
Responsible for all supplier invoices to be sent to accounts department as soon as booking confirms and keep track of payments for the tour
Doing required admin in order for the finance team to do their part on your tours
Reconciliation of tours once concluded
Handling of complaints, assist by gathering feedback from suppliers etc. and prepare responses to be sent (when signed off by management )
Meet given deadlines and targets
Emergency phone duty
Working effectively with other departments in the business, understanding the inter-departmental flows and dependency
Assist with other projects or in other departments if and when necessary and delegated by management
