BON Hotels has added Destiny Lodge Nelspruit added to its portfolio, further expanding its African portfolio. The property will undergo a refurbishment which will see a doubling of the current capacity with the addition of 35 rooms.

Plans are also in place for an international convention centre, construction of which will start in mid-2018. The centre will have a capacity for 1 500 delegates, the first of this size in the region.

The property is five minutes away from the Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport, close to the Kruger National Park’s Numbi Gate, and on the outskirts of Nelspruit – making it ideal for showcasing the Lowveld, said Guy Stehlik, CEO of BON Hotels. He added that the group’s initial focus would be on the local and international tour operator market, and the ‘Free Independent Traveller’ (FIT), domestic and leisure markets.
