Chobe Game Lodge in Chobe National Park, Botswana, intends to increase its fleet of electric vehicles and boats, with plans to convert its entire fleet of vehicles and boats to electric by the end of 2017.
The lodge currently has a fleet of four electric game vehicles and three electric safari boats, one of which is solar powered.
“It would be totally irresponsible of us not to innovate in terms of sustainability,” says Stuart Parker, Business Development Manager for Desert & Safaris. “The electric vehicles and boats are just one of a range of innovations at the property.
“There is currently a total of 11 vehicles and five boats in the Chobe Game Lodge fleet, which includes the current electric vehicles. By end of 2017, we want all 11 vehicles and five boats to be electric,” says Parker.
