Though the UN is quick to point out Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe was not appointed as an ambassador, the mere recognition of Mugabe at a UN event was enough for Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister, John Baird, to announce the country’s withdrawal from the United Nations World Tourism Organisation.
