The Cape Grace, located at the yacht basin close to the V&A Waterfront, has announced the completion of its newly upgraded pool and outdoor area, ahead of the 2014 summer season. The refurbished area has a sunken lounge, rim-flow pool and bar with a nautical design that is carried through to the hotel’s Signal restaurant. Large sail structures were installed for shade, as well as stainless steel bollards, winches, jam cleats and pulley systems that replicate the operation of the foredeck of a yacht. Additions include changing rooms, shower facilities, a kids’ pool and access for disabled guests at the bar.
Sandy Pollard, Cape Grace GM, said: “The newly refashioned space is in keeping with international design trends, while subtly retaining the Cape Grace’s old-world charm and distinct Cape Town flavour, for which the hotel is renowned.”
