Walking safaris at Elewana Lewa Safari Camp and Elewana Kifaru House have resumed in the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, Kenya.
The guided walking safaris were suspended in May while the Conservancy waited for the relevant permits to be authorised by the Kenyan Government so that guests could be taken on walking safaris with the relevant safety equipment.
Guests will be accompanied by a professional walking safari guide with knowledge of local flora, fauna, culture and history. They will learn about tracking animals, identifying birds and the benefits that local people derive from the indigenous bush.
Other camps and lodges in Kenya have also had to suspend walking safaris due to the country’s firearms policy. These include &Beyond’s Kichwa Tembo and Bateleur Camp in the Maasai Mara.
