Wyndham Hotels and Resorts is taking over management of Uganda’s luxury Pearl of Africa hotel, which opened in October 2017 in Kampala.
Silvia de Candia, Wyndham’s Manager of PR and Communications for Europe, Middle East, Eurasia and Africa, confirmed to Tourism Update that the company was in discussions with Aya Group, which owns the hotel. “We are currently working with Aya Group to ensure the required pre-opening operational arrangements are in place.”
However, De Candia did not say when Wyndham was expected to take over the management of Pearl of Africa. “As discussions are in progress, we are not in a position to disclose any further details at this time.”
The Pearl of Africa offers five-star accommodation, comprising 253 rooms and 42 suites in seven levels of accommodation. Facilities include bars and dining options, a ballroom, nine meeting rooms, two boardrooms, a business hub, three swimming pools, and a wellness centre with a luxury spa and fully equipped gym.
Wyndham Hotels and Resorts is the world’s largest hotel franchising company, with nearly 9 000 hotels across more than 80 countries.
