Multi-award-winning chef, David Higgs has joined the Saxon Boutique Hotel as Executive Chef.
He has previously worked at a number of acclaimed local restaurants including Meerendal and Rust-en-Vrede in the Western Cape winelands and, more recently, at Radisson Blu Gautrain.
“As food and wine trends continue to evolve, and as one of Johannesburg’s most prestigious luxury establishments, it is essential that we offer the absolute best to our valued guests. David’s appointment is vital in the future vision for the hotel,” said the Saxon’s General Manager, George Cohen.
Singita Game Reserve has appointed Zimbabwean-born Chef, Sara Rickard, as Sous Chef at Singita Pamushana Lodge in the Malilangwe Wildlife Reserve in south-eastern Zimbabwe.
Rickard has worked on three luxury yachts in the Mediterranean and Caribbean, as Chef de Partie at Ellerman House Hotel in Bantry Bay, and trained at Terroir Restaurant at the Kleine Zalze Wine Estate in Stellenbosch, The River Café in Constantia Valley and the Cape Grace Hotel at the V&A Waterfront.
