Marataba Conservation Camps has launched its new offering, the Star Camp Out, as an additional experience to go with a minimum three-night stay at either Marataba Founders or Explorers Camp.
Marataba is located in Marakele National Park, Hartbeestfontein, a three-hour drive north of Johannesburg. It can only be booked between March 1 and October 31.
The camp can sleep up to eight guests, aged 12 and above, in four tents. There is no electricity, but vehicles are equipped with small chargers that are powerful enough to charge camera batteries and phones.
The set-up fee per group is R10 000 (€584), in addition to the nightly rate at Explorers or Founders Camp. For every additional night, there is a R5 000 (€292) surcharge, for a maximum of five nights.
It is also possible to participate in a rhino darting and notching experience, at an additional cost of R52 000 (€3 045) per group of up to ten people.
