The Namibia Airports Company is in the process of renaming Ondangwa Airport (OND) in the Oshana region of the country.

The airport will be renamed Herman Andimba Toivo ya Toivo Airport. Herman Andimba Toivo ya Toivo was a Namibian anti-apartheid activist and politician who served in senior government positions, including Minister of Mines and Energy, Minister of Labour and Minister of Prisons and Correctional Services.

The official renaming ceremony will take place on August 22.
