South African National Parks has appointed Charlene Adams as the new Park Manager for West Coast National Park – effective this month.
Adams holds a Degree in Development and Environment from the University of Stellenbosch and has dedicated 17 years of her career to working in the conservation sector, with a decade of that tenure spent at SANParks.
As the newly appointed Park Manager of WCNP, Adams emphasises the importance of engaging with various stakeholders and communities to address their needs while fulfilling the core mandate of biodiversity conservation. She acknowledges that the park's sustainability relies on delivering benefits to the people and garnering stakeholder support.
Johan Taljaard, SANParks Cape Region's Regional GM, believes Adams’s extensive knowledge and experience in environmental management and her expertise in community and public relationships will serve SANParks and the West Coast region exceptionally well in the future.
Sales and marketing boost for The Residence Portfolio
Taryn van Wyk has recently been appointed Sales & Marketing Manager of The Residence Portfolio, incorporating The Residence Boutique Hotel in Johannesburg, Camp Ndlovu in the Welgevonden Game Reserve, and Mukwa River Lodge on the Zambezi River in Zambia.
As a seasoned hospitality industry professional, van Wyk’s track record spans over two decades with expertise across various sectors.
She started her career as a Corporate Conference Organiser, and has since excelled as a tour operator, DMC specialist, and Project Manager.
