Welgevonden Private Game Reserve in Limpopo is now offering guests star gazing activities.
Conservation officers, Yarin Lorist, Shani Preller and Sibusiso Vilane recently completed the Astronomy Africa ‘Sky Ranger’ course and have been provided with a new 20cm telescope by Astronomy Africa to offer star-gazing activities to the lodges on Welgevonden.
Guides will be available to come to a lodge with the telescope to provide guests with amazing insight into the night sky or to meet lodge guests at Bushpig Lapa for an evening of ‘astronomical’ entertainment.
The flat rate for the stargazing activity is R500 plus R100 for each guest attending and R50 for children under 12 years old. There is no charge for children under six.
Lorist, Preller and Vilane will also be attending a course on Limpopo Rock Art at the Wits Rock Art Research Institute over the next month, after which they will be available to take visitors to the sites on Welgevonden.
