Michael Pownall has joined the Performance Management Reimagined Hospitality team and will work alongside Managing Partners, Tony Romer-Lee and Euan McGlashan. Pownall’s hotel industry experience spans three decades during which he lived and worked on four continents. He has held positions including that of Deputy General Manager of the Cape Sun Hotel and General Manager of the Mount Nelson Hotel. Most recently he was Managing Director Southern Africa for Taj Hotels, Resorts and Palaces, after initially holding the position of General Manager to build, launch and operate the Taj Hotel Cape Town.

Executive chef, Henrico Grobbelaar, has joined the Southern Sun The Cullinan in Cape Town. Grobbelaar’s awards include: Sunday Times Chef of the Year 2009; San Pellegrino International Young Chef of the World 2009; Executive Chef to the World Economic Forum in Switzerland 2010 and the 2010 FIFA World Cup; Captain of the South African Culinary Olympic Team from 2008-2012 and part of the national culinary team since 2005.
