Bashni Muthaya has been appointed Chief Strategy Officer of South African Tourism, effective October 1.
Bashni will join the executive committee (EXCO) team in this new role.
She has been at SAT, leading the Strategic Research Unit for over 14 years, as well as being Regional Director for Europe. In 2016 Bashni was seconded by the organisation to France to set up the South Europe hub. There she looked after the French, Spanish and Italian markets, and established an operating model.
“Bashni’s strong business acumen, extensive experience and her effortless ability to manage multi-faceted stakeholder infused with her results-driven focus, make her ideal for this key role as Chief Strategy Officer of SA Tourism. We look forward to her contribution as we put all our efforts together in growing South African’s tourism sector and contributing to South Africa’s inclusive economic growth,” concludes Ntshona.
Tourism Update recently reported on the election of Tourism Minister Tokozile Xasa as Deputy Chairperson of the Regional Commission for Africa (CAF) during the 22nd General Assembly of the United Nations World Tourism Organsiation (UNWTO).
Chloe Flatt has joined Governor’s Camp Collection as a Marketing Manager.
She will be based in the Kigali office, and will work alongside Alex Millar.
Flatt will be looking after the North American, South American, Asian, Indian, Russian and Rwandan markets. She will also organise fam trips and educationals and assist with general marketing enquiries for the entire Governor’s Camp Collection portfolio.
Karin Frohlich from Lieb Management has joined Governor’s Camp as Marketing Representative, looking after the German-speaking markets.
