Tourism Update readers want the recently formed SADC Tourism Business Platform to focus on improving air access in the region and removing the red tape around visa processing.
In response to our latest poll, 50% of readers said the platform – which comprises influential private sector role-players – should throw its weight behind these two crucial aspects.
Further indicating the industry’s desire for more efficient flow of tourists into and out of the region, 27% of readers suggested that improvement of border services and infrastructure should be the entity’s top priority. This was followed by increasing regional marketing (14%), increasing investment (5%) and influencing regional policy direction (4%).
Getting on board for Indaba
South African Tourism has opened registrations for Africa’s Travel Indaba 2023, taking place at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre from May 9-11.
