Following Japan’s removal of all COVID-related border restrictions on May 8, Tourism Seychelles recently embarked on a series of trade workshops in Tokyo and Osaka.
The events were aimed at rebuilding the market and meeting old and new partners.
In conjunction with Constance Ephelia and Constance Lemuria (two resorts in Seychelles), the workshops provided the opportunity to engage with Japanese travel agents, tour operators, and other key partners through destination market updates and networking sessions that enabled the participants to learn about the latest tourism developments in Seychelles and explore potential business opportunities.
Commenting on Tourism Seychelles’ recent engagements in the Japanese market, the Director for Japan, Jean-Luc Lai-Lam, said: “We recognise the potential of the Japanese tourism market and are committed to building and strengthening partnerships with key stakeholders to welcome more Japanese travellers to the destination and providing high-quality tourism experiences to our Japanese visitors.”
As Seychelles welcomes Japanese travellers again, the focus has been placed on the destination’s luxury offerings, rich cultural experiences, eco-tourism, island-hopping adventures, and domestic cruises.
The trade workshops marked a significant step in strengthening ties with the Japanese market, setting the stage for further growth and collaboration.
