Roads are currently closed to Afriski Mountain Resort in Lesotho due to snow.

Nicola Gerrard, Marketing Manager of Afriski Mountain Resort says the A1 road to the resort, on a section called Moteng Pass is closed due to slippery roads and a broken down truck.

According to Gerrard, the road closure affected Afriski Mountain Resort and Oxbow Lodge on Thursday (May 31), however roads should be open by Friday (June 1), with clear weather expected.

Commenting on the snowfall in Lesotho, Gerrard says: “We have had approximately five centimeters, with light snow falling at the moment. This is a great start to our winter season which officially launches next week – three months of snowboarding and skiing for the whole family.”
