Hospitality group, Tsogo Sun, will officially exit the Kenyan market with the closure of the Southern Sun Mayfair on January 31.
At this stage, the group had no plans to develop any other properties in the East African country, said Public Relations and Communication Manager of Tsogo Sun, Neo Mboniswa.
She told Tourism Update that the group had chosen not to renew the lease, which expires at the end of the month. She said no forward bookings had been affected.
“Employee contracts have been terminated after due consultation. All staff have been provided with the necessary support aligned with the labour laws,” said Mboniswa.
The Tsogo Sun Hotels portfolio includes over 100 hotels in South Africa, Africa, the Seychelles and the Middle East.
