Tuli Safari Lodge, in Mashatu, Botswana, next to the South African border, posted an encouraging video this week announcing the reopening of the Limpopo Valley Airfield. On Tuesday it welcomed its first flight in 19 months, hailing from Johannesburg.
“Where else in the world do immigration officials stand on the runway, waving and welcoming guests? A truly warm Mashatu welcome!” the lodge tweeted.
The airfield, just a 15-minute drive from Tuli Safari Lodge, accommodates daily charter flights and is the most direct available access to the lodge by air.
