At Mont Rochelle, Sir Richard Branson’s Hotel and Mountain Vineyard in Franschhoek, the newly opened Manor House is ideal for family bonding with four deluxe suites and a bunk room for the children. When the sun is shining everyone can make the most of the two private pools; younger guests will have fun with poolside games whilst adults put their feet up on the relaxing sun loungers. When it comes to dining the options are endless; eat alfresco on the terrace with a glass of Mont Rochelle wine, get together for a family dinner party in the Manor House’s beautiful kitchen or enjoy the delights of Mont Rochelle’s two restaurants, Miko and the Country Kitchen.
Looking for an adventurous retreat? Every relative from 6 to 106 will be blown away by a safari at Ulusaba Private Game Reserve, South Africa. Ulusaba’s luxurious Cliff Lodge accommodates up to 5 adults and 4 children and can be hired exclusively by families looking for a little extra privacy. While parents and grandparents can soak up the views on a private deck, younger family members will have a wild time with the Cub’s Club where we offer a range of activities tailored to each child or group. Alongside the twice-daily game drives, Cubs can find their own mini adventure back at the lodge, spotting birds, insects, lizards and other small critters led by our expert guides. After a busy day of game viewing, all the family will be ready to make a splash in Cliff Lodge’s private pool. At Ulusaba, all meals and drinks are included and a stay in Cliff Lodge also comes with your own private chef.
Kenya
Mahali Mzuri is Sir Richard Branson’s 12-tented luxury safari camp situated in Kenya’s Maasai Mara ecosystem where guests will be able to enjoy the abundant game all year round. Children aged eight years or older are very welcome to stay at Mahali Mzuri and are able to join their parents on daily game drives. There are two tents which are able to accommodate a family of four, with sofa beds (180cm in length) in the separate enclosed sitting room. Tailored activities can be arranged for younger guests to enjoy during their stay enabling them to see as much local wildlife as possible. Special food and beverages or simple snacks and light meals, such as sandwiches, can be prepared.
