On February 23, the Port of Mombasa welcomed the Norwegian Dawn – the largest cruise ship to ever dock in Kenya.
The ship, carrying 2 200 tourists and 900 crew members, was greeted by dancers and tourism officials.
Over 800 of the tourists experienced more of Kenya on day-long excursions around Mombasa and the Amboseli National Park.
This is the fourth of eight cruise vessels scheduled to dock in Mombasa during the 2024/25 cruise season. Kenya has placed significant emphasis on developing the cruise sector, which experienced an increase of more than 163.5% arrivals in 2024.
