Tourism Update readers have indicated in our latest poll that visas (26%) are the biggest challenge to growing intra-Africa travel.
This was jointly followed by air connectivity and a lack of inter-country collaboration (22%).
Lack of harmonised country regulations (15%) came in fourth, and transport/infrastructure issues (14%) at fifth, followed by ‘other’ (1%).
Is Tourism Month beneficial?
Last month’s Tourism Month (September) heralded a number of initiatives aimed at growing businesses, such as Sho’t Left Travel Week, and South African Deputy Minister of Tourism, Fish Mahlalela’s announcement that the country’s tourism industry would focus on green investments and sustainable developments.
This week, Tourism Update would like to know whether initiatives such as Tourism Month are beneficial for the industry and businesses.
