Wetu has launched the first phase of new developments to enhance the layout of digital itineraries, allowing customisation through a new Classic Template Settings feature. Wetu clients on the Digital Enterprise package can now contact the Wetu support team who can then enable this functionality immediately.
The new feature comes as a result of feedback from clients and interested trade members, said Terri Boshoff, Wetu Operations Manager, during a webinar unveiling the new feature. She added that with more clients starting to use Wetu’s services, clients were wishing to differentiate themselves.
Once the Classic Template Settings functionality is enabled, operators can change the format and look of the itinerary that they’ve designed by choosing from a number of settings from a drop-down menu. New format settings that operators can choose from include being able to set the menu navigation to appear either at the top or at the bottom of the screen.
Operators can now also change the format settings of the Trip Summary tab to display either in grid format, gallery viewing, or in the format of a timeline with a map. Under the Destinations tab, there is an option for operators to choose between block, grid, timeline, six image gallery, five image gallery, carousel gallery, and slider gallery display format. There is also an option for operators to change the format of the Accommodation tab to either block, carousel gallery, slider gallery, or embedded thumbnail gallery display format. Operators can choose to display the Daily information tab in standard block format or timeline view, and the Transport tab in a linear timeline format in chronological order. Country information can now be set by operators to display in two columns. It also has a hideaway feature.
Operators also have the option of setting the format changes as default settings to link across all itineraries, or can customise each itinerary individually.
Boshoff mentions that the next step in enhancing digital itineraries would be to look at how to improve the look and feel of itineraries. For example, Wetu is also looking at how to enable animation.
