The University of Johannesburg’s School of Tourism and Hospitality is conducting a study focusing on tourist guides in South Africa and is calling upon the tourist guiding subsector for participation.
Commissioned by the National Department of Tourism, the research focuses on the opportunities, challenges, and barriers to transformation within the tourist guiding subsector, emphasizing previously disadvantaged groups, including women and youth tourist guides.
To meet the research objectives, the voices of tourist guides in South Africa as a key stakeholder group are essential. In this regard, registered tour guides are called to participate in the study by completing the survey here.
The information collected will be anonymous and will primarily be used in the compilation of a report with recommendations that are envisaged to inform policy frameworks for the advancement of the subsector in South Africa
The survey should take 10 to 15 minutes, and the link will be available until February 8.
