South African-developed video itinerary builder TripClip has launched the world's first vertical video itinerary builder. The new product is an addition to TripClip's standard landscape video itineraries.
According to TripClip Founder and Director Scott Blount, the vertical video itinerary is personalised, branded, completely customized, and optimized for mobile viewing and sharing, with an added advantage of taking only 30 seconds to build.
The vertical itineraries are also designed to be shared on social media platforms, such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, and Twitter.
A recent functionality test of the vertical video itinerary generated 1 200 views within 24 hours. Tour operators have already praised TripClip for its ability to convert potential customers.
Blount said that African itineraries have already been viewed/shared over 1.5 million times on the TripClip platform, and the company is confident that this new feature will exponentially increase that reach in the months to come.
Speaking to the inspiration behind adding the vertical option, Blount said: “Our standard itineraries are often viewed/shared in excess of 50 times, which represents invaluable brand traction throughout the sales process – but we wanted to further optimise our platform for sharing on social media channels. Even just one in every ten clients makes use of this, it generates literally thousands of brand impressions thanks to the power that these platforms have.”
TripClip currently has over 70 DMCs and tour operators signed up directly on its platform and in excess of 500 additional companies receiving TripClips from its Africa-based partners.
“In addition to launching new destinations every month we’re continuing to improve the platform and add new functionalities. We’re focussing on these two pillars not only to maintain our user growth but also to increase the platforms effectiveness, Blount concluded.
Tour operators have already lauded TripClip as highly beneficial for helping to convert potential customers.
Blount won last year’s edition of the African Youth in Tourism Innovation Challenge in Botswana for the creation of TripClip.
