Operations have returned to normal at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) following the crash landing of a flight from Wajir, the Kenya Airports Authority reports. The incident closed the runway yesterday.
According to KAA, the crash landing by an aircraft operated by Skyward was due to failure of the landing gear. No casualties or injuries were reported.
Operations were restored around 15h00 yesterday after the aircraft was moved from the runway and KAA and Ministry of Transport had concluded an inspection of the runway.
Kenya Airways in a statement said all flights due to land at Nairobi at the time had been diverted to Mombasa.
