A traveller, who arrived in Botswana from China on an Ethiopian Airways fight on Thursday, is now under quarantine after Botswana's government today (Friday) officially confirmed the country's first suspected coronavirus case.
The Department of Health and Wellness said in a statement that the suspected case was registered at Sir Seretse Khama International Airport in Gabarone.
"The person suspected of having the coronavirus is still under isolation at Block 8 Clinic and investigations are ongoing,” reads the statement.
There have been no further confirmed cases (or suspected cases) reported in Africa.
