Preparations are in high gear for the fifth annual Africa Tourism Leadership Forum and Awards, which will see industry leaders gathering in Gaborone, Botswana, to explore ways of advancing entrepreneurship and empowerment of women and youth in tourism.
Taking place from October 24-26, the event, organised by the Botswana Tourism Agency and Africa Tourism Partners in collaboration with the UN World Tourism Organization and accounting firm BDO, will be attended by over 350 delegates from more than 30 countries, including ministers, policy-makers and captains of industry.
The event will culminate with the announcement of winners of the Africa Tourism Leadership Awards, which strive to honour outstanding innovations in travel, tourism, hospitality and related industries. A record 160 nominations were received for the awards.
Winners of the Africa Youth in Tourism Innovation Challenge will be announced on the same evening, to recognise young people who are making extraordinary strides in tourism.
