Hazendal Wine Estate, managed by Newmark Hotels & Reserves, has launched a luxurious superyacht experience in Cape Town, complementing the Stellenbosch-based wine estate’s growing offering of five-star experiences.
The Hazendal Yacht, Princess Eve, at 25m, is South Africa’s largest superyacht and is now available for exclusive use charter cruises and private events in the waters around Cape Town. This is the country’s most upmarket boating experience.
The luxury vessel has extensive outdoor deck areas, a rooftop Jacuzzi, and an indoor lounge.
The yacht can accommodate up to eight people on overnight cruises and bigger parties on day trips.
Three spacious cabins are configured with double, queen and bunk beds. The master cabin features a king-size bed and large windows that offer 180-degree views of the Atlantic Ocean.
All four cabins have en-suite bathrooms with showers while the master cabin has its own bathtub.
When chartering the yacht, passengers can choose from a variety of Western Cape itineraries. These include excursions up the West Coast to Langebaan and Saldanha Bay, sunset cruises around Robben Island, trips along the Atlantic Seaboard to Clifton or Hout Bay, and cruises around the Cape Peninsula, passing Simon’s Town and the scenic Cape Point Nature Reserve.
The vessel can also be booked for private functions. These can be held in the harbour waters or at the yacht’s permanent docking station at the V&A Waterfront, opposite The Victoria & Alfred Hotel.
Gastronomic experiences onboard
Some of the fine dining options that guests can enjoy on board include ribeye steaks, grilled line fish, gorgonzola gnocchi, crème brulée, and panna cotta.
For a more casual dining experience the yacht offers barbecues on the roof deck. Here guests can expect to sample Cajun prawns, lamb cutlets and beef fillets. A canapé menu is also available for outdoor events.
An onboard mixologist prepares a wide array of drinks at the bar, including the yacht’s signature ‘Endless Summer cocktail’. The full range of award-winning Hazendal wines are available on board, including the estate’s MCC Blanc de Blanc and Blanc de Noir Cap Classique.
“The Hazendal Yacht, Princess Eve, both complements and completes our offering of Western Cape experiences. This new experience allows our guests to pair the peaceful beauty of the Cape Winelands with the vibrancy of Cape Town, as experienced from the waters of the Atlantic Ocean,” said Simone Voloshin, Director of Hazendal Wine Estate.
“World class wines, fine dining, unsurpassed luxury, and bucket list experiences all form part of the five-star luxury Hazendal Experience. Yacht passengers can be assured of expecting the same standards of excellence and refined hospitality that they have come to expect when visiting our estate,” added Voloshin.
Newmark’s first cruising product
Princess Eve is the first cruising product to form part of the Newmark Hotels & Reserves portfolio.
Both Hazendal Wine Estate and The Hazendal Hotel, which opens its doors next month, form part of the hospitality management company’s South African portfolio.
“With its azure blue waters, iconic Table Mountain views and white sand beaches, Cape Town has firmly established itself as a sought-after cruising destination since the launch of the city’s cruising terminal. However, despite more than 190 000 big ship cruise passengers docking at Cape Town harbour this year, the region remains largely unexplored as a superyacht destination. We look forward to tapping into this new market with the sublime Hazendal Yacht. This product will showcase Cape Town as one of the most attractive superyacht destinations in the world,” said CEO of Newmark Hotels & Reserves, Neil Markovitz.
