As of October 27, Austrian Airlines now offers two weekly flights between Cape Town and Vienna.
Dr Alexis von Hoensbroech, CEO of Austrian Airlines says: “The route is an exciting new addition to our leisure portfolio. 23 200 Austrians visited Cape Town in 2017 and in the future we would like to welcome two thirds of all travellers from Vienna to Cape Town on board of Austrian Airlines.”
Dr André Schulz, Lufthansa Group General Manager for Southern Africa says: “The Austrian Airlines service to Cape Town will offer a Premium Economy Class, which until now has only been available on Lufthansa aircraft. The new direct route, as well as the new cabin class, provides both business and leisure passengers between Cape Town and Vienna an exciting new travel experience.”
The route will be operated by a Boeing 777 in a three-class configuration (Economy, Business and Premium Economy). The flight schedule is as follows:
- Flight OS31 departs Vienna on Tuesdays and Saturdays at 11h25, arriving in Cape Town at 22h40.
- Flight OS32 departs Cape Town on Wednesdays and Sundays at 00h20, arriving in Vienna at 10h50.
