The Avani Windhoek Hotel and Casino has upgraded its facilities, including a new grand entrance, lobby, café and hotel reception.
The upgrade allows guests to access the hotel from the main street (Independence Avenue), while the new lobby features a deli and business facilities.
This is the first of three planned renovations to the hotel, the total cost of which has been valued at N$24 million (€1.6 million).
According to the hotel’s General Manager, Rudie Putter, the second renovation is under way and will see the first-floor buffet restaurant redesigned, the addition of two new banqueting venues, an executive block with two new conference venues (one accommodating 180 people and the other accommodating 54), and the inclusion of a new gym facility. He added that the restaurant should be completed in the next two months, while the banqueting facilities are expected to open in July.
“The final renovation will see the complete reconstruction of all rooftop facilities. These will then include a grand ballroom, new signature restaurants and a bar alongside a swimming pool and pool deck.” The hotel will also receive an extra 84 parking bays.
