SAACI will be hosting a training session at its head office in Rosebank, Johannesburg, to discuss the effects of B-BBEE on business growth. Information discussed will benefit business owners, operational managers and human resources managers.
The introduction of this workshop follows this year’s proposed amendments to the Tourism Scorecard, and the fact that, by now, some corporates may have been required to submit suggestions on these amendments. The session will shed light on what B-BBEE means to businesses.
“The way we do business must include our compliancy but, for some tourism companies, the application of B-BBEE in the workplace remains blurred,” SAACI ceo, Adriaan Liebetrau, said in a statement. “In this workshop we will look at understanding B-BBEE in the workplace, how the codes affect businesses, how to attain the highest level of the scorecard, keeping track of measurable elements, options/suggestions to grow your elements and practical applications.”
The first B-BBEE session will be held on October 2 from 09h30-11h30 and the second will be held on October 5 from 14h00-16h00. Spaces are limited to 16 people on a first-come, first-served basis and attendees must pay R350pp.
Shariefa Allie-Nieftagodien will be the trainer for both sessions. She holds a Master’s degree, has 30 years’ travel industry experience in South Africa and has also worked in various areas of tourism, including operations development strategy. Since 1994, she has participated in transformation training in tourism.
